As a teenager, Vin Lee created computer graphics on an Amiga 1000 for a local cable channel under Time Warner Inc. This helped earn him, through a grant from the Michigan Education Association, the opportunity to work under a Hanna Barbera director for his junior year in high school. During this time he produced a 3minute hand drawn film that achieved some modest success.
In the late 1980s, Lee flush with royalties from his art work, began creating products for the film and video industry soon to be part of the Cinemagic Marquee portfolio. Blockbuster Entertainment was expanding at a rate of one store per 18 hours. Lee pitched them over the phone on his patented trilon illuminated marquees. Over the next several years, Lee worked with several of the largest companies in the industry partnering with a California based manufacturer and opening up facilities in Mexico. The rest as they say, is history....
Today, Vin Lee can more likely be found with a pocketful of diamonds at the Beverly Hills Cigar Club smoking one of his private reserve LOUIXS cigars and chatting with friends. He is also Chairman of the Board and CEO of Grand Metropolitan, a luxury goods conglomerate headquartered in Beverly Hills, CA.
